The Oscar Scherer State Park
One of the attractions of Willowbend is the close proximity to The Oscar Scherer State Park, a preserved abode of natural pine scrublands to hardwood hammocks where the unique Floridian flora can be found. It is the first site in Sarasota County to be listed in the National Register of Historic Places, and is accredited by the American Association of Museums. Willowbend is a refined and active community having numerous social meetings where you can cultivate lasting relationships with neighbors.Willowbend is family-friendly and is also close to the world-renowned Pine View School for the gifted and many other fine schools around Sarasota.
The community is maintenance free. The homeowner association is mandatory and is inclusive of high speed internet (Verizon FIOS) and Comcast cable TV, yard maintenance, pest-control, lawn sprinklers, public sewer and water, streetlights, as well as maintenance of all public buildings and park areas, and the use of the Community Center Facilities which include a heated community swimming pool, fitness center, tot lot and basketball court.
The association fee for the smaller club homes it is $288 per month and for the larger, estate homes, it is about $320 per month. Home prices also vary from $300,000 to $650,000.
